Overview

Physiology in French “Physiologie” is the knowledge of the functioning of living systems. For example, in respiratory physiology, through the laws o physics such as gas, liquid, and pressure, the amount of air entering each lung is calculated. The force of the different gases flowing through other parts of the lung is changed how gas (oxygen and carbon dioxide) is transported into the blood of the capillaries around the alveoli and compared to abnormal (pathological) conditions such as emphysema and asthma. The sub-types of physiology are animal physiology, plant physiology, and medical (human) physiology. The importance of this field in the world is so great that the Nobel Prize, one of the most prestigious awards globally, is dedicated to the outstanding knowledge of all medical subgroups. This is known as the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine.

Medical colleges, including the Ilam University of Medical Sciences (IUMS), teach physiology in most college disciplines and faculties. The range of training data on physiology depends on the needs of different fields. For example, medicine consists of almost nine training units, and dentistry consists of six.

The IUMS Department of Physiology was founded in1995and initially were consulted professors from other well-known universities to take charge of its training units. Thanks to God and the efforts of the university owners, it has become entirely independent in the last decade.
